The only real string attached is that all restaurants have a minimum order total you must reach to use your gift certificate. Most $25 gift certificates require a minimum pre-discount bill total of $35 (a few require a $50 minimum order). The restaurant will also add an 18% gratuity to your original check total. In the end, you still come out ahead (with savings).
