49 cent Tacos at Calimex, Every Tues. & Thurs.

I love finding a good hole-in-the-wall place to get yummy, inexpensive food. Today's find comes courtesy of LA Bargain Hunter reader Chris, who tipped me off to 49 cent tacos every Tuesday and Thursday at Calimex Restaurant. (Thanks, Chris!)

Here's the skinny:

Calimex is located in North Hollywood at 5342 Vineland Ave (just south of Chandler).

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can enjoy tacos for 49 cents each. The tacos are made without extras as there's a salsa and garnish bar where you can load up on the toppings of your choice.

There are two decent reviews of the place on Yelp.

I'm a big fan of Restaurant.com and have written before about how it works. In case you need the quick details:

The only real string attached is that all restaurants have a minimum order total you must reach to use your gift certificate. Most $25 gift certificates require a minimum pre-discount bill total of $35 (a few require a $50 minimum order). The restaurant will also add an 18% gratuity to your original check total. In the end, you still come out ahead (with savings).

There seem to be a good number of new restaurants in the LA area participating through the site now, too. Enjoy!

Denny's is again hosting a free breakfast event post-Super Bowl.

$49 Round-Trip Luxury Bus Ride, LA to Vegas
